Sunday, Feb. 17, 2008 - 5:20 p.m. no pain! no gain! Or something like that, I guess. I started the steroids. Maybe the migraine was going away on its own but if so it was taking too long, so whatever. Pump me up. Anyway, it isn't hurting. Sweet. Molly was doing better yesterday; running around to areas of the house she hadn't visited lately, and she and Miranda indulged in some mutual grooming and curled up together. I was happy to see both those things. She's sleepy again today, though. Maybe it's like people-- sleepy during the day when they're sick and feel better in the evening. I've been trying to call Mother to see if they got her moved into Daddy's room, but have gotten no answer. Catching up with them is always random. They have the cell phone with them but it is of extremely poor design and the volume control for the ringer is on the side where it is entirely too easy to turn it down accidentally, and that happens with depressing regularity. I showed it to her, and she sometimes remembers to turn it back up so she can hear it ring. Sometimes it's just charging or somewhere they can't get to it in time, and of course the whole routine of finding out who called and returning the call is way too complicated for her, even though I've demonstrated and explained it a dozen times by now. It's magic, you know. Oh, and someone told them that it's hard on the battery to talk on the phone while it's charging, so they probably won't answer if it is. Who knows? I was all excited about having ordered some DVDs to fill out my pitiful collection-- Barnes and Noble's Oscar sale ad got me-- and I ordered The Sting, Shakespeare in Love, and All About Eve.... and then on a whim threw in Repo Man. Clearly not on any Oscar lists, but one that I keep remembering and referring to. We'll have to have a movie night sometime. Anyway, I was feeling all proud about all this and then this morning read that whoever makes HD DVDs is going to quit making them and is ceding the field to BlueRay, and I got all po-faced about it until I realized that I don't even have an HD player anyway. Oh, well, someday in the semi-distant future I'll have to replace everything. Again. Probably won't replace everything; I didn't when I switched from videocassette to DVD. This gets annoying, yanno? Maybe it'll be a while and I'll get some use out of these. Sigh.
